Things Black Church thought me
Black people exist.
Black children are important.
Memorization skills (Easter and Christmas speeches)
Black spaces render black excellence.
Black people read and read quite often.
Social class is not indicative of value.
Race matters.
Innovative musical technique and composition.
Black history month programs do not happen regularly outside of church for either local or national Black history.
Rhyme scheme on lock. (Jesus came to achieve not to deceive.)
Hope.
Stand up and speak clearly.
True relationship.
Prosperity is key to success.
Social order (the constructed rules) operates how we function.
The struggle again a social order we didn't create and wasn't created for the Black community.
Single parenthood is a point of shame.
Fear of the regression of Black community through the regression of Black community.
Prayer fixes all even when there's something you can actually do.
Hope.
The pain of false relationship.
